Marje Al-A’ala Sistani urges swiftness in new govt formation

HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: Marje’ Al-A’ala Sayyed Ali Husseini
As-Sistani has urged the need of speediness in formation of Iraq’s new
government.
He made his remarks during talks with Iraqi Premier Ibrahim Al-Ja’fari
who met with the Marje’ at his residence in the holy city of Najaf on
Monday.
Talking to reporters following his meeting, Al-Ja'fari said efforts to
form a new government were running into difficulties. But he said the
difficulties would be overcome.
Ja'fari said he hoped the formation of the government would not take
as long as it did last time, when forming the government took three
months.
He hopes to have a national-unity government that groups his alliance,
Kurdish parties, and two Sunni groupings.
