Iraqis reiterate allegiance for Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (p)

HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: Marking Eid `ol Ghadeer on
Zolhijja 18 Thursday, more than a million Iraqis were gathered at the
holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (p) to reiterate their oath
of allegiance for Prophet (p)’s son-in-law, cousin and the first
infallible successor Ali Al-Mortaza (p).
The holy shrine was beautifully decorated with colorful buntings and
multi-hued lights, people wore new and fine dresses to signify their
happiness, sweetmeats and candies were distributed, and special
drinks, foods and desserts were served to the guests of Al-Imam Ali
(p).
Eid `ol Ghadeer marks the day when on the commandment of Allah the
holy Prophet (p) declared Al-Imam Ali (p) as his successor by raising
his hand in front of more than 120, 000 hajj pilgrims and saying ‘mann
kontu maulahu fahaza Aliyon maulahu (Ali is the Master of all those,
whom I am the Master).



A’maal of the night and day of Al-Ghadeer Feast were performed at the
holy mausoleum in spiritual environment, wile eulogists recited
eulogies in praise of Wasi-i-Rasul (p).
Ghadeer celebrations were also held at offices of maraje, mosques,
husseiniyaat and open places organized by different organizations.

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: "Imam Ali, we come to swear allegiance to you," chanting it, over one million Iraqis have gathered in the holy city of Najaf for Zeyarah of Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him) holy shrine on Wednesday and Thursday marking Idd Al-Ghadir, an auspicious occasion to reiterate allegiance to the Master of Believers Ali bin Abi Taleb (peace be upon him).
