Terror ringleader behind Karbala bomb attack held

BAGHDAD, Iraq: American and Iraqi officials
said they have arrested the ringleader of a terror campaign
that included the March 2004 attack in Holy Karbala on the
occasion of Ashura – Moharram 10 - that left more than 200
Hussaini mourners and pilgrims martyred.
In a statement, the US military said Ahmed Hussein Dabash
Samir al-Batawi, also known as Ahmed al-Dabash, was captured
on May 29 by Iraqi and coalition forces in Baghdad's Mansour
district.
Al-Batawi confessed to beheadings and killing hundreds of
innocent Iraqis, the office of Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki
said in another statement.
