HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: Martyrdom Anniversary of Sayyed-ol Kaenaat Hadi-ol Bashariyah Ar-Rasul Al-Azam, or the Chief of Universe, Guide of Humanity Holy Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah (peace be upon him and his progeny) was commemorated by millions of Iraqis on Safar 28, March 29 with due respect and reverence throughout the country.

The main mourning program was held amid tight security at the holy shrine of cousin, son-in-law and first infallible successor of holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny), Amir-ol Mominin Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), in the holy city of Najaf where several million mourning pilgrims had gathered from different parts of the country.

Some had reached there on foot, in caravans while some alone carrying Husseini standards to extend their condolence to Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him) marking the sad occasion. Throughout the route to Holy Najaf, large tents were erected to facilitate the mourners with meals and drinks.
