HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Third Quran conference, held in
the holy city of Najaf – home to the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali bin
Abi Taleb (AS) -, drew scholars and intellectuals from the Najaf Hoza
as well as professors of universities, Quran reciters and common
people.


Addressing the gathering, Najaf Friday prayer leader
Sayyed Sadreddine Al-Qabanji presented comparison between old and new
styles of Tafseer (Quran explanation).

Sayyed Hasan Al-Hakim, deputy secretary-general of
Shahid-ol Mehrab foundation, in his address highlighted need of Quran
by the society and Quran’s effect on human beings.
The conference opened with the discussion titled ‘Holy Quran
memorization in Iraq, factors and ways of development’ presented by
Sheikh Al-Hafez Abdul-Mehdi.
