8,000 pilgrims daily descend on Najaf

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Sayed Abdel Hussein Moosawi, chief of Najaf governorate Council, has said that the holy city receives eight thousand (8,000) pilgrims from Arab and Islamic countries daily.

Holy city of Najaf houses the holy shrine of Amir Al-Mo’minin Al-Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (AS), the first infallible descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (SW), his cousin and son-in-law.

Recently, Imam Ali International Airport has been inaugurated in this holy city marking the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Imam on Rajab 13.
