HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Massive protests were held in the
holy city of Karbala to commemorate the second anniversary of
flattening of holy Askariya shrine in Samarra.
Islamic Association for Iraq Women staged a demonstration
that began from the street of Baab Qiblah Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) and
culminated at the area between the two shrines.
The protest demanded immediate rebuilding of the Samarra
shrine.
On Thursday, Moharram 22, a demonstration was held by
Maukab KHadamah Ar-Rodatain AlHusseiniyah wal Abbasiyah. The demo
ended at the holy shrine compound of Al-Abbas (AS). The protestors
rendered condolence to Imam Hussein (AS) and Al-Abbas (AS) on the
Samarra Tragedy.
