BAGHDAD, Iraq: Marking the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary
of Commander of Faithful Al-Imam Ali b. Abi Talib (AS) on Rajab 13,
civilian flights will start this month at a former military airport in
the central Iraqi holy city of Najaf.
A statement quoting Najaf governor Assa'ad Abukelel said Al-Hamza
airfield will be inaugurated as a civilian airport on July 20.

"The runway has been successfully tested. The departure and arrival
terminals are also ready," he said. "We have also signed a contract
with a Kuwaiti company to operate the airport for a month when it will
train Iraqi staff in managing the facility."
The new airdrome named "Al-Imam Ali International Airport" is expected
to boost the number of pilgrims.
Millions of pilgrims flock every year to Najaf that houses the holy
shrine of Al-Imam Ali (AS).

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
