HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: Marking the anniversaries of birth of Chief of Prophets and Seal of Messengers Prophet Muhammad b. Abdullah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and his sixth infallible successor Al-Imam Ja’fer As-Sadeq (peace be upon him), celebrations were in continuation across Iraq particularly in the holy city of Najaf like other global parts.

In holy Najaf that houses the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali Al-Mortada (peace be upon him), a book exhibition opened.

Foundations of Al-Marjaiyah in Najaf, Karbala and Kadhimiya participated in the exhibition directed by Sayed Ahmed Az-Zirjawi.

Among the participants were Al-Atbah Al-Alwiyah, Al-Atbah Al-Husseiniyah, Al-Atbah Al-Abbasiyah, Al-Atbah Al-Kadhimiyah, Sehla Mosque, offices of Ayatullah Sayed Muhammad Taqi Al-Modaressi, Al-Alllama doctor Muhammad Bahrul Uloom, Shaheed Al-Hakim Turath Foundation, Al-Mortadha Foundation for Culture, Shahid Al-Mehrab Foundation, Najaf’s lights Foundation, Al-Imam Al-Khoei Foundation, Al-Allamah al-Faqih Sayed Hussein Al-Ghorayfi Foundation, Al-Ameer Cultural Center, Aal Al-Beit Foundation, Turath An-Najaf Al-Hidari Wad Dini Foundation, Al-Allamah al-Faqih Sayed Muhammad Jawad Al-Ghorayfi Foundation, Anwaar Al-Jom’aa Foundation, Aafaq Foundation for studies and research, Sheikh Zayn-uddin Foundation for Islamic sciences, Al-Ghari Foundation, Sadeqayn Library, Al-Haydariyah Library, Al-Ghdair House for Publication, Al-Ma’aref Foundation and Al-Manar Foundation.

In Diyala, Shahid Al-Mehrab Foundation organized a festival attended by people from all stratums.

In Kufa, a conference titled ‘insult of holy Prophet is an insult of humanity’ was held. The conference strongly denounced publication of blasphemous images of holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his holy progeny)

In An-Nasseriyah, a massive festive ceremony was held. Elites and officials attended.

In holy Najaf, Quran memorizing and recitation contest was organized. Officials, clerics, Maraje deputies, cultural, religious and political foundations attended.

In Tal’afar, a grand festival was held attended by representatives of Maraje, lawyers, intellectuals, chieftains, elites besides a large number of common people. Eulogies were recited in praise of Prophet (Peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and his Ahl-ol Beit (Peace be upon them).

Also, a poetic gala was organized in Tal’afar. More than a dozen poets and poetesses including Abzer Abbas, Redha Jolaq Oghlu, Zaynal Sufi, Almalaa Bazi, Najlaa Al-Moosawi, Abdul-Ghani Jolaq, Ibrahim Almalaa, Sayf Fadhel, Hussein Auj, Azher Almalaa, Baqer Jolaq, Daniyal Qassem, Morad Hasan and Alaa Hasan participated.

In Basrah, Ulema Al-Iraq Association’s southern branch organized a celebratory gathering. Al-Allamah Sheikh Salih Ar-Rashid, Dr Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Lahmim, Sheikh Muhammad Aboud Al-Motaweri and many others addressed.
