Crowds gather at Imam Hasan daughters’ shrine to mourn

HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: In connection with the martyrdom anniversary of
Sibt An-Nabi Al-Akbar Al-Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mojtaba (AS) on Safar 7
Tuesday February 3, large processions and majalis al-aza were held
while markets were close in the holy city of Karbala.
Tens of thousands of mourners gathered at the Husseini and Abbasi
shrines in Karbala and at the shrine of daughters of Al-Imam al-Hasan
(AS) in Al-Hindiah to offer their condolence marking the occasion.
According to some traditions it was Safar 7 when Al-Imam Al-Hasan
(AS), elder grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SW) was martyred while some
other traditions say the second infallible Imam was martyred on Safar
28.
