HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Millions of Husseini mourners – men, women, young and old, from across the country while holding standards of Al-Abbas bin Ali (AS) and chanting ‘Ya Hussein’ are on their way to Karbala where they will observe Arba’in Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS).

Some reach in 17 days while some others journey take less time to reach.

Karbala is home to the holy shrines of Al-Imam Aba Abdellah Al-Hussein (AS) and Al-Abbas (AS).

Throughout the way to Karbala, large tents have been set up to ease the mourners with food, hot and cold drinks as well as beddings.

Security in the holy city has been beefed up.
