Karbala wears black to mark Imam Sajjad (A) martyrdom day

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Martyrdom Anniversary of Al-Imam Zein
al-Abidin As-Sajjad (AS) was observed in the holy city of Karbala on
Moharram 25.
Marking the occasion, markets were shut while big mourning banners
were placed on walls and buildings.
Flocks of mourners gathered at the holy shrine of Al-Imam Al-Hussein
(AS) to extend him condolence on martyrdom of his son As-Sajjad (AS)
who was 22 when the tragedy of Karbala happened in 61 AH.
Meanwhile, a special procession of Khoddam (servants) of the two holy
Husseini and Abbasi shrines began from the husseini shrine compound
and culminated at Al-Abbas (AS) mausoleum. Elegies were chanted during
the procession. The Khoddam expressed their devotion and their
stickiness to true Mohammadan path.
