Ramadan distinguished with mending selves, Allama Ma’ash

DAMASCUS, Syria: Allama Sheikh Kamal Ma’ash has said that the holy month of Ramadan, month of Allah, is distinguished with mending selves.

In his Friday sermon held at Hawzah Ilmiyah Zainabiyah in Damascus, Sheikh

Kamal Ma’ash threw light on the significance of the month of Ramadan. He quoted a hadith narrated by Imam Reda (as) from his forefathers from Amirul Momineen Al-Imam Ali (as) that holy prophet (saw) said one day: “O people there has come to you the month of Allah, the month of blessings and forgiveness. It is the best of all months in the sight of Allah, its days are best days while its nights are the best nights and its hours are the best hours. This is the month in which you are called to the feast of Allah. Your breathe in this month is glorification of Allah and your sleep worship and your deeds accepted and your prayers are heard. So ask Allah with pure intention to give you ability to fast and recite His Book.”

He added that when the Prophet (saw) ended his sermon, Al-Imam Ali (as) asked him: “What are the best deeds of this month?” the Prophet (saw) replied: “Avoidance from that which Allah forbids.”

Therefore, it is necessary to equip ourselves with piety and praiseworthy traits of character treading in the footsteps of Ahlul Bayt (as), he added.

Mentioning the important days during the month i.e. birth anniversary of Al-Imam Hasan Al-Mujtaba (as) on 15 Ramadan, martyrdom anniversary of Al-Imam Ali (as) on 21 Ramadan and nights of Qadr, Sheikh Ma’ash urged the need to follow the seerah of Ahlul Bayt (as) during the holy month.
