Ayat Shirazi’s message marking Ramadan beginning By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Marking the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, Ayatullah Sayyid Sadiq Al-Husseini Ash-Shirazi said that in reception of this virtuous month which Allah has distinguished by revelation therein of the greatest book in the heaven history for felicity of humanity forever and during which fasting persons are Allah’s guests, it is necessary for all believers everywhere in the world to prepare their souls for the complete benefit from this great divine hospitality. He urged the need of increase in the religious majalis, reverence of Husseini Sha’a’ir (majalis, latmiyaat), seminars of invocations during Ramadan days and nights, performance of group prayers, and circles of Quran recitation and consideration in it, and its intonation and its interpretation, in each mosque, husseiniyah, institute, school, and other public places. The Ayatullah said feeding poor and needy during this month is a reward getting deed as there goes a saying of Prophet (p): “Guard yourselves from the Fire even though by giving a part of date, Guard yourselves from the Fire even though by a draught of water.” Quoting a hadith of Masumeen (as) that “he is not from us who did not reckon himself every day…” Ayatullah Shirazi called for the allocation of a little time each day for the reckoning of the soul, and a fast reconsideration of what went through the twenty four past hours, and the intention of the continuation of the good and the repentance for the sins. He said that the intention of accompanying the good manners throughout this blessed month with the relative and the strange one, the believer and non-believer, the small and the senior, the man and the woman, the friend and the enemy, and others is very necessary.
