Rajab 27: Khatami urges following of Quranic guidelines By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani TEHRAN, Iran: Marking the happy occasion of annunciation and accession (Mab’ath and Meraj) of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh&hp), the 20th international Holy Quran reciting competitions inaugurated in Tehran on Tuesday. Addressing the ceremony, President Muhammad Khatami said: “Today's world is world of lie, deceive, force, violence, terror, suppression, discrimination and humiliation of human beings… under such circumstances, the human being needs to understand the truth offered by Holy Quran.” “The Muslim World should foster unity inspired by the Holy Quran,” he said adding, “In our Islamic teachings, relationship with non-Muslims is based on humanitarian principles and logic, and use of force and intimidation are forbidden in Islam. The president said: “If the Muslim World follows the guidelines of Holy Quran in fostering unity, the current religious and cultural differences will no longer be harmful.
