Mash’had, Qom grieve on Arbaeen al-Hussaini

HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD, Iran: Deep condolences were extended to eighth infallible descendant of holy Prophet Hazret Muhammad (saw), Hazret Imam Ali Ar-Reza (as) and his sister Sayedeh Fatemeh Al-Masouma (as) on the occasion of Arbaeen, or the 40th day after the martyrdom of Hazret Imam Hussain (as).

Throngs began converging at the two holy shrines housed in the holy cities of Mash’had and Qom from the eve of Arbaeen. They organized majalis, did seena-zani and recited nauha and marasi throughout the night. These programs continued till late on Safar 20, April 11, Sunday.

Majalis were also held at tombs of imam-zadas, late founder of Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatullah Roohullah Khomeni, mosques and hussainiaat throughout the country.

Supreme leader of the country Ayatullah Khamenei attended Arbaeen program at hussainia Imam Khomeni, Tehran.
