Hawzah stops As-Sadr from fighting in Najaf By: Mohamed Ali NEW YORK: Maraje Uzzam in the holy City of Najaf have forbidden Moqtada As-Sadr from fighting in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. London-based Saudi newspaper Asharq Alawsat reported on its website on Saturday that a statement addressed to Moqtada As-Sadr by the Maraje said: “If you reject our advice and you have decided the confrontation, then get out of Najaf.” Asharq Alawsat said it has obtained a copy of the statement.
