Ar-Rasol Al-Adham (p)’s M-day in Saudi cities: markets shut

AL-QATEEF, Saudi Arabia: Martyrdom Anniversary of Sayyid Al-Morsalin, or the Chief of Messengers, Ar-Rasol Al-Adham Prophet Muhammad bin Abdellah (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) was observed on Sunday, Safar 28, April 18 in Qateef, Damam and some other parts of the kingdom.

Complete mourning was declared by shutting businesses and markets. Black standards were set and condolence banners were hanged on buildings and husseiniyaat to mark the occasion.

The black-dressed mourners – men, women and children – flocked to the mosques and husseiniyaat for participation in majales al-azaiyah, conferences and symposiums. Speakers threw light on the life and status of Allah’s Prophet (peace be upon him & his pure progeny).

In Damam, Samaha Sayyid Ali As-Salman addressed on the demise of Ar-Rasol Al-Adham (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) at Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) mosque. He said the demise of holy Prophet (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) was a great shock not only for humanity but for every thing of the world. Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) mosque which has capacity of 5,000 worshippers is the only Shiite mosque in Damam. This mosque was extended for three times because of less capacity for taking worshippers in it. The government does not allow building of other mosques for Shiite people.

Sheikh Abbas Al-Mahros addressed a majles al-azaiyah at Al-Imam Zein al-Abidin (peace be upon him) mosque in Dasha under the arrangements of Mawkab al-Ghadir.

In Sehat city, Mawkab al-Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) arranged a mourning program at Husseiniyah al-Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) on Sunday safar 28.

Meanwhile, mourning processions were also held attended by throngs of mourners as well as renowned dirge-chanters. A procession was taken out from Al-Imam Zein al-Abidin (peace be upon him) mosque on Sunday at 4:30 PM. Sayyid Qassem Ash-Shakhs, Abbas Al-Misbaa and Zaki al-Fardan recited dirges.
