By: Karim Tellawi
BEIRUT, Lebanon: Lebanon’s Supreme Shia Islamic Council gave
emphasis to commitment to maintain distinguished relations with Syria
in the interest of both states and peoples.
In a declaration issued after a meeting in Beirut under the
chairmanship of Deputy Leader of the Council Sheikh Abdulamer Qabalan,
the Council said: “We renew rejection of attempts to impose
international mandate on Lebanon or interfere in its internal
affairs.”
It stressed the importance of full implementation of the Taif Accord
which all Lebanese people had consensus on as it is a national
reconciliation document.
Sheikh Qabalan called for the necessity of boosting the national
unity.
He condemned series of assassinations which target Lebanon security
and stability, referring to the last assassination bid which targeted
Lebanese Minister of Defense Elias al-Murr, calling on the competent
authorities to exert every possible effort to unveil the perpetrators
and bring them to justice.

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
