Saudi government invites Ayat Sistani

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Saudi Arabia has extended an invitation to Al-Marje
Al-Aala Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Al-Husseini As-Sistani for visit to the
kingdom aimed at conversation and consultation with clerics on
important religious issues.
According to Ad-Dastour newspaper the invitation received welcome from
the Ayatullah who expressed hope that he would think over it after
drafting of Iraqi constitution completes.
Under the Saudi government’s new expansion project in holy city of
Makka, some of Islam's historic holiest sites possibly including a
home of the Prophet Muhammad (p) are under threat.
