Marja’iyah urges Const drafting in line with Ahl-ol Bayt (p) teachings

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Holy Najaf Marja’iyah has urged that new
constitution of the country should be drafted in accordance with the
teachings of Ahl`ol Bayt (p) – holy progeny of holy Prophet Muhammad
bin Abdullah (p) - that call for justice, fairness, respect of others,
and taking care of rights of all without any discrimination regardless
of color, creed and religion.
In a statement issued from the Holy Najaf office of Ayatullah Sayyed
Ali Al-Husseini As-Sistani, the Grand Marjay said religious
foundations, moral principles and noble social values are needed to be
the key points of the new charter.
He said religion and politics are not separate from each other because
role of Marja’iyah is to issue verdict in all field of life.
Meanwhile, head of the parliamentary committee mandated to draft the
constitution Hammam Al-Hamoudi on Friday held talks with Holy Najaf
Marajay regarding the new document. The Grand Marajay said it is vital
to keep Islamic foundations protected while drawing up the
constitution.
