Hawza warns Baghdad-Amman relations under threat over terrorism

By: Ismail Zabeeh

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah An-Najaf Al-Ashraf - Center of Shiia World - has said Iraq-Jordan relations are threatened under the Iraqi bloodshed while expressing its surprise over Ayad Allawi government’s silence about Jordanian interference in Iraq’s internal affairs aimed at creating rift and hatred among the Iraqi people.

Separately Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) headed by Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, son of grand marjay of shiia world late Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim, has regretted stance of Jordanian clerics who are keeping a silence and ignorance towards bloody massacre happening in Iraq.

These statements came after Jordan media reported without condemnation that a ceremony was held in Jordanian city of As-Salat to honor the Jordanian suicide bomber who killed at least 132 innocent Iraqis in Hilla bombing in the end of February this year leaving up to 200 injured.

According to elaph news the Hawzah expressed regrets over shutting of eyes by Jordanian authorities from that groups which misguide youth and send them to Iraq for terrorism.

In such a time when Iraqis’ hearts and eyes shed blood over the killing and injuring of hundreds of innocent men, women and children in the criminal operation done by Jordanian terrorist Raed Mansour Al-Banna in Hilla, his family and people of his city in Jordan held a celebratory function which the media reported with pride over the success of their cruel terrorist son in shedding innocent blood in the month of dignity – Muharram - on the soil of wounded Iraq, the Hawzah statement said.

It called on the Iraqi government to take prompt steps with regard to terror file and Jordanian backing for it. It warned that relations between Baghdad and Amman are at risk under shedding of innocent Iraqi blood unless Jordanian government, its media, scholars, intellectuals and businessmen would not stop criminals and leave their fundamental thinking.

SCIRI said in a separate statement that as innocent Iraqis are being massacred and deprived of their limbs every day in different cities, their Arab and Muslim brethren and particularly in the neighboring countries must have to stand unitedly condemning terrorism which is anti-humanity and against all conventions, laws and religions.

But deplorably it has not happened as special celebratory ceremonies are being held in Jordan to honor the bloody criminal who killed and injured hundreds of innocents, and none of Jordanian media, parties, clerics or unions condemned it. Jordanian newspaper ‘Al-Ghadd’ and internet also published a picture of the celebratory function held in Deewan Al-Asheerah in central Al-Jad’aa area in As-Salat city which showed that father of the terrorist was receiving congratulations on the crime of his son.

Condemning the honoring of terrorists by their families and others in Jordan, the SCIRI forcefully demanded from the Jordan government to launch investigation into the matter, urged scholars, religious, political and professional institutions to declare their condemnation for such criminal acts.

It also appealed to the Iraqi government to take proper measures through legal institutions and diplomatic channels towards Jordan in case if it does not deal with the file of honoring the killer of Iraqi people.

The statement further said human conscious calls on all nobles in the world and every Arab and Muslim, wherever they are, to fulfill their human, Islamic and Arab responsibilities, and abandon their silence over the massacre of innocent people of Iraq.

Later, National Security Advisor Dr Mawafeq Al-Rabeie has demanded from Jordan to work on stopping infiltration of terrorists to Iraq.

Meanwhile, thousands of Iraqi protestors in several Iraqi cities demanded expulsion of Jordanian ambassador in Iraq besides taking of measures against Jordan’s political and religious institutions.

The protestors gathered in front of Jordan embassy in Baghdad while carrying Iraqi flags and photos of terror victims were chanting slogans against terrorism.
