MANAMA, Bahrain: Martyrdom Anniversary of Al-Imam Ali b. Al-Hussein Zayn-ol Abidin (p) was solemnly observed across Bahrain on Muharram 25 like other countries.

Grand majalis and mawakeb al-azaa, or the mourning sittings and processions, were held attended by hundreds of thousands of mourners who by performing mourning rituals and shedding tears offered condolence to the Holy Prophet Muhammad b. Abdullah (p), Al-Imam Ali b. Abi Taleb (p), Sayyedah Fatimah Az-Zahraa (p), Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p), Imam-ol Asr the Last Imam Al-Mahdi (p) and other members of their family marking the occasion.

Majales al-azaa were held at thousands of venues including Maatam bin Sallum, Husseiniyah Al-Haaj Ahmed bin Khamis, Masjid Fatimah-toz-Zahraa (p), Maatam Ash-Shahid, Masjid Al-Momin, Maatam Al-Imam Al-Baqer (p), Maatam Ad-Darah, Maatam Al-Ajam Al-Kabir, Husseiniyah bin Zubr, Maatam As-Samamik, Husseiniyah Al-Qassab, Maatam Al-Haaj Ali Al-Mulla Sanad, Maatam Raas Ar-Rumman, Maatam bin Zubr, Maatam Al-Imam Ali (p), Maatam Ithni Ashariyah, Maatam Medina Eisa, Maatam As-Sanabas.

Speakers threw light on the life of the fourth infallible Imam Al bin Al-Hussein As-Sajjad (p) who was the protector of the pious mission of his father Al-Hussein (p).

Renowned dirge-chanters participated in the processions reciting elegies on the sufferings of Al-Imam As-Sajjad (p).

Special meals and drinks were prepared and served for the mourners.
