NY protest demands UN-led investigation of Samarra tragedy

NEW YORK, United States: Thousands of Muslim men,
women and children braced the below freezing temperature to gather at
a rally to protest heinous bombing against shines of Al-Imam Al-Hadi (a.s.)
and Al-Imam Al-Askari (a.s.) in Samarra, opposite United Nations Head
Quarters on 47th Street and 1st Ave in New York on Sunday.
 
Shiite and Sunni Muslims all unitedly participated in the rally.
Wissam Nasr, Executive Director of CAIR New York, read a resolution,
drafted by the organizers.
 
 
 
 
"Therefore it be resolved, that a complete and comprehensive
investigation, led by United Nations, is commenced of the horrific
tragedy which took place on Wednesday, Feb 22, 2006 at the Holy Shrine
in Samarra; that, the holy shrines in Iraq, including Najaf, Karbala,
Kadhimain and Samarra be declared part of International heritage."
Different organizations including Tehrik Nafaz-i-Fiqha-i-Jafariya (TNFJ)
America branch partook in the demonstration.

Worldwide majalis, matam denounce Samarra shrine destruction

HYDERABAD, India: Millions of Muslims, both Shia and Sunnis, condemned bombing of holy Askariyain shrine by holding majalis, matam and mourning processions in Iraq, India, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Britain, Indian-held Kashmir, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and other countries. Condolences were conveyed to 12th Imam (may Allah hasten his reappearance) marking the sorrowful tragedy.
