Saudi clerics laud Lebanese scholars’ harmony-promoting role

AL-QATIF, Saudi Arabia: Large number of religious scholars, clerics, intellectuals and businessmen honored Mofti of Seda and Az-Zahrani (Lebanese cities) Sheikh Muhammad Al-Aseeran, who was on a visit to Saudi Arabia this weekend on special invitation.

Prominent Saudi cleric Sheikh Hasan As-Saffar threw a banquet in honor of Sheikh Al-Aseeran appreciating his efforts and role in Seda for promoting harmony among Shia-Sunni Muslims and Christians. Dignitaries of Al-Qatif also attended.


Al-Maliki wins Saudi support for peace efforts

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: At the start of a Gulf tour to rally support for his peace plan, Nuri Al-Maliki, Iraqi Prime Minister, won Saudi Arabia's backing for his efforts to halt the bloodshed in Iraq.
