India Shia Board terms Saddam hanging as vindicated

By: Nizam Hussain

LUCKNOW, India: The All India Shia Personal Law Board on Saturday took a rather strong stand on the execution of former Iraqi dictator Saddam terming the hanging as "justified”.

In an official release, the AISPLB added that Saddam was tried by a court of justice and punished for his heinous crimes.

"Saddam should not be seen as a Muslim as he was not following true Islam," the president of AISPLB's Mumbai chapter, Sayed Mohammed Nawab, said.

Nawab said that Saddam was a tyrant and many other tyrants in Islamic history are prostrated by "Saddami Muslims" who destroyed cities and killed millions of people whom they called kafirs, (unbelievers). These people had imposed their own kind of terrorist Islam, he added.

India Shia Board says community marginalized

LUCKNOW, India: The All India Shia Personal Law Board has demanded proper representation for the community in government jobs and central Hajj committees saying that Shias were marginalized and their representation in state assemblies and Parliament was negligible.
