Saudi authorities raze mosque in Karbala

AL-AWAMIYAH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi authorities have razed
Mosalla (place for prayer) in Karbala sector of Al-Awamiya city in the
oil-rich Mominin-dominated eastern region sending a wave of anger
among Mo’minin.
After the demolition a protest attended by men, women and children was
staged at the demolished Mosalla (mosque) and police fired heavy
bullets on the protestors. The protestors wept in front of remains of
the Mosalla.
The demolition came on the birth anniversary of Al-Imam Al-Hasan Al-Askari
(AS) on Saturday.
According to the Saudi Information Agency Washington, four bulldozers,
six tanks and more than 250 armed military men came to demolish the
Mosalla where Sheikh Namar An-Namar leads prayer.
