By: Firdous Issa

KANO, Nigeria: Shiites in Kano have commended Media Trust for adhering to the ethics of journalism through reporting events in a fair and objective manner.

Sheikh Mahmud Muhammad Turi, leader of the Shiites in Kano made the commendation during a courtesy visit to Media Trust office in the city.

Turi said Shiites were peace-loving people who are misunderstood by the society.

Describing the current crisis between the Sunnis and Shiite brethren as unfortunate, and noting that the trend is a plot against Islam by enemies of the religion, Turi called on Muslims to eschew any act capable of creating disunity among them as such attitude would be detrimental to the religion and the faithful.
