Ayatullah Murtada Al-Askari buried in Holy Qom

HOLY QOM, Iran: : Ayatullah Seyed Murtada Al-Askari,
a founding member of Iraq's ruling Dawa party banned under Saddam, was laid
to rest on Wednesday September 19 in the holy mausoleum of Hazret-e-Fatimah
Masumah (AS in the holy city of Qom.

The ceremony started at Imam Hassan Askari (AS)
mosque, at 09:00 local time (0530 GMT).



Ayatullah Seyed Shabbiri Zanjani led the
funeral prayer.



Large number of common people as well as
members of Majlis-e-Khobargan, administrative authorities, delegations of
Iranian SL Ayatullah Khamanei and Maraje Uzzam, students and Scholars of Hoza
Elmia participated in the funeral ceremony of the late Ayatullah.
Ayatullah Seyed Murtada Al-Askar was died on Sunday September 16 in Iran
after suffering a heart ailment and kidney problems. He was 93 years old. He
was the writer of many Islamic books.
