Protests held across Pak marking ‘Samarra Day’

By: Salman Alvi

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The “Youm-e-Samarra” was observed throughout the country on Friday to mourn the destruction of minarets of holy shrines of Imam Al-Askariyain (A.S.). Protest demonstrations were held in all big and small cities of the country including Federal Capital Islamabad.

The A’aimma Karam in their sermons delivered at Friday congregations highlighted the importance of Sha’air Allah and made it clear that as per Quran, the respect of Allah’s signs is binding while insulting the same is a sin.

In Islamabad, a protest demonstration was staged in front of the Press Club Camp Office in Islamabad under the auspices of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya District Youm-e-Samarra Committee. The protesters were carrying portraits of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi and protest banners and placards inscribed with different slogans.

Dr. S. Zaman, Convener of the TNFJ’s Youm-e-Samarra Committee addressing the participants declared the Shahadat of minarets of Holy Shrine of Hazrat Imam Ali Naqi Al-Hadi (A.S.) and Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari (A.S.) and desecration of holy places in Iraq and acts of terrorism a heinous conspiracy of the satanic powers and demanded from the United Nations to play its role in pulling out of American and allied forces from Iraq and Afghanistan and depute the United Nations Peace Keeping force there.

Chairman MSO Syed Bu Ali Mehdi also addressed the gathering.

Prof. Ghulam Abbas Haideri, Secretary of the District Youm-e-Samarra Committee of the TNFJ presented a resolution which was adopted unanimously.

The resolution said that Muslim States are enriched with invaluable blessings and treasures and they should have thanked Allah and displayed unity and brotherhood so as to achieve freedom of Kashmir, Palestine and Al-Quds and would have got the right to veto.

The resolution criticised that international Taghoot not only rooted out Afghanistan and Iraq but also committed blasphemy and desecrated holy places. The resolution made it clear that the Iraqi soil is not commensurate with Muslim Ummah only but to the whole humanity where Holy Shrines from Prophet Adam (A.S.) to Prophet Noah (A.S.) are there but the allied forces targeted Najaf-e-Ashraf, Karbala-e-Mualla, Baghdad, Kazmain Sharifain and razed the minarets of Holy Shrine of Al-Imamain Al-Askariyain (A.S.) last year on June 13 sending a wave of resentment in the whole humanity but the Muslim Ummah remained a silent spectator instead of raising this issue at the United Nations or summoning the OIC session.

The resolution demanded introduction of a law making the act of insulting holy book, religions, and Mashaheer a cognizable offence and if there is any such then it should be implemented strictly giving exemplary punishment to the culprits.

The resolution condemned NATO attacks at the Mohmand Agency check post and called upon the government to adopt a strong and courageous line of action.

Allama Basharat Hussain Imami addressing the main Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid Qasr-e-Khadijatul Kubra Tarlai Kalan, highlighted the importance and supremacy of the Sha’air Allah.

Allama Sadiqi at Jamia Masjid Jafariya, Hojjatul Islam Allama Matloob Taqi at Jamia Masjid Sakhi Shah Piyara Chuhr Harpal Rawalpindi, Allama Syed Mohsin Ali Hamdani at Jamia Masjid Qasr-e-Abu Talib expressed similar views.

Strongly condemning the Samarra incident they considered it the job of enemies of humanity through which the satanic forces desired to pitch one Maktab against the other by committing such condemnable activities so as to reap their own benefit. Therefore, every one is under the obligation to thwart this heinous conspiracy through unity and mutual brotherhood, they said.
