Al-AWAMIYAH, Saudi Arabia: Al-Awamiyah city of Al-Qatif
in the oil-rich Mo’minin-dominated astern region of Saudi Arabia
observed on Shawal 8 Thursday 85th anniversary of demolition of holy
shrines in Al-Baqee Cemetery in the holy city of Medinah at the hands
of the then Saudi rulers.

Marking the occasion, religious ceremonies, mourning
processions and majalis al-azaa were held at mosques, homes and
husseiniyaat i.e. Jamay Al-Imam Al-Hussein, Masjid Al-Abbas and
husseiniyah Al-Montadhar.


Speakers while addressing these majalis spoke on the
Tragedy of Al-Baqee, its history as well as legality of construction
of shrines in light of Quran Al-Hakim and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad
(S). They also urged the need to respect Aaimmah of Ahlol Beit (AS).

Maukeb Sayedah Zeinab arranged mourning ceremony at
Masjid Sheikh Muhammad in Al-Baldah. Huge posters inscribed with the
pictures of demolished shrines were pasted on high buildings.
