HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: To celebrate Al-Mauled An-Nabavi Ash-Sharif, or the birthdays of Master of the Universe, Seal of Prophets and Messengers, Prophet of Mercy Muhammad bin Abdullah (p) and his infallible descendants (p) is considered best of the deeds in line with divine words in holy Quran “he who respects the signs of Allah, then it is of the piety of hearts”.

Birth of Holy Prophet (p) is the greatest of all blessings of Allah showered upon the entire universe; therefore we are under obligation to express thanks for this supreme blessing.

According to the most authentic traditions, Ar-Rasul Al-Azam Muhammad (p) and sixth infallible Imam from his holy Progeny Al-Imam Jafar bin Muhammad As-Sadiq (p) made the world bright with their birth on 17th of Rabee-ol Awwal.

Millions of devotees enthusiastically and zealously observed the auspicious occasion across Iraq on Tuesday 17th of Rabee-ol Awwal, 26 April, by holding huge festive gatherings at the holy shrines of Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (p), Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p), Al-Abbas (p), Al-Imam Mousa Al-Kazem (p), Al-Imam Taqi Al-Jawwad (p), Al-Imam Ali Al-Hadi (p) and Al-Imam Hasan Al-Askari (p) in the holy cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kazemiyah and Samara. Representatives of Grand Marajay, chieftains, political, religious, social and diplomatic figures as well as Christian delegates attended.

Marking the scented event, the shrines, mosques, husseiniyaat, streets and buildings were beautifully ornamented with colorful buntings, shiny streamers, fresh sweet-smelling flowers and bright gleaming lights; A’maal of the day were performed; special meals were cooked to serve the devotees; holy Prophet (p) and Imam As-Sadiq (p) were panegyrized by reciting eulogies in their respect-worthy court; greeting were extended to each other and the holy Ahl-ol Beyt (p); and poetry sessions were organized.
