By: Hamoud Kufi

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Sayyed Abdel Aziz Al-Hakim, son of late Grand Marje of Shiia World Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim, and chairman of Iraq’s key political organization Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq, has severely condemned bloodbath in Hilla which he called “city of scholars and nobles”.

In a statement issued from his office, Al-Hakim who leads the United Iraqi Alliance which has won in the Jan. 30 elections said series of these terror cruel activities are a kind of genocide war which is being committed against “our innocent Iraqi sons” as within every few minutes scores are being martyred.

The statement which began with the Quranic verse “certainly we are for Allah and to Him we will return,” said the enemies of patient Iraqi nation have unveiled themselves through their heinous acts of massacring innocent civilians without caring for religious dignity, human values and international laws.

Al-Hakim urged all Iraqis, Arab nations and the world to condemn Hilla terrorism in which more than 130 people have been martyred and 170 injured, and support in all efforts to pull these criminals - who have lost honor and mercy and declare their responsibility of massacres committed against sons of our nation - out from Iraq and in their rooting out.

Al-Hakim concluded the statement with pray for the martyrs that may Allah overwhelm them with His mercy and give patience and forbearance to the bereaved families.

Al-Hakim did not offer condolence because of Muharram which marks the martyrdom of Chief of Martyrs Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali (p), grandson of holy Prophet (p).
