Holy Najaf handed to Iraqi forces
By: Ismail Zabeeh
HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: American troops have officially handed
over military control of the southern holy city of Najaf to Iraqi
forces.
It is the first step in transferring security across the country so
multinational forces can begin to go home someday.
US commander Lt-Col James Oliver said Iraq's army is "capable of
responding to all security needs... we are now here in a strictly
advisory mode."
"It gives me great pleasure to say the Iraqi army in Najaf can control
the area," said Brig-Gen Augustus Collins, who made the official
handover on behalf of the US army.

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
