Salman Al-Muhammadi (R)’s shrine attacked

By: Ismail Zabeeh

AL-MADAYEN, Iraq: Terrorists bombed the holy shrine of one of holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)’s distinguished companions, Salman Al-Farsi (may Allah be please with him), in Al-Madayen city of Iraq.

Buratha News Agency of Iraq reported this on Thursday December 7.

According to the report three bombs targeted the holy shrine causing damage to the dome of the shrine.

Salman was born in or around the year 568 A.D., in a small town in Persia called Jiyye. Holy Prophet said about Salman: “Salmano minna Ahl Al-Beit” (Salman is of Ahl Al-Beit). His service to the household of the Holy Prophet and his sincere love for them earned him great respect from all quarters of the Ahlul-Beit.

It didn’t take a long time that this “Farsi” name was changed to “Muhammadi” by the Prophet. One could see a clear sign in the Prophet’s (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) eyes of the great respect which he had for Salman as he would say: “Allah loves Salman in the heavens and His Messenger on earth. Whenever Angel Gabriel came to me, he would ask me to convey Allah's special salaams to Salman. Salman is from me, anybody who oppresses him, he has oppressed me and anybody who annoys him, he has annoyed me. He is a pious monotheist and true believer of Divine Unity.”

Salman had such praiseworthy qualifications that the infallibles would also praise him. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) has mentioned as: “Salman is a member of our family, where can one find someone like Salman who is like the Wise Luqman."
