Najaf shrouds in black to mourn Imam Ali (p), seven mln flock

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: An estimated seven million
devotees have streamed towards the holy city of Najaf, many on
foot, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Amir’ol
Mominin Al-Imam Ali Al-Morteza (p) at his sacred shrine on
Ramadan 21, October 15 Sunday.
Security measures are intense, however, with only specially
licensed cars allowed into the city center where the
golden-domed shrine of Imam Ali (p) is located.
Bazaars, markets, and educational institutes were closed to
mourn the Master of Believers Imam Ali (p) while the
government has announced three-day mourning marking the sad
occasion.

PARIS, France: With great spirituality, holiness and devotion, A’maal of the first of the three layali Al-Qadr, or the Nights of Glory, (Ramazan 19, 21, 23) were held on 19 Ramazan night (night between 18 and 19 Ramazan) in all parts of the world while big mourning programs in connection with the anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib (as) are being in continuation.
