HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Despite constant terrorism, Husseini
mourners from across the country continue to arrive at the holy city
of Karbala on Monday to commemorate Arba段n al-Husseini on Safar 20
which falls on the coming Wednesday this year.
Arab段n preparations were on climax as according to local
counts more than 7 million mourners have yet reached the city of
Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS), grandson of holy Prophet (S), who rendered
matchless sacrifice for safety of Islam and defense of high human
values.
On Sunday, a suicide bomber martyred at least 40 pilgrims and wounded
60 others as the pilgrims made their way to Karbala to commemorate
Arba段n. Women and children were among the casualties.
Thousands of Husseini groups have set-up their camps
throughout the routes to Karbala to welcome the guests of Al-Imam
Al-Hussein (AS).
Security has further been tightened marking the occasion.
