Quran & fasting means of education and training, Ayat Makarem

By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani

HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Ayatullah Makarem Shirazi has said Ramadan is the month of virtue, the month, which protects man against threats and cultural aggressions, and empowers him to overcome them.

In his weekly meeting with various classes of people, the Ayatullah indicated that Ramadan is the month of education and training. He said: “Quran and fasting are the means of education and training in this month: Quran is the educative factor, and fasting is the training factor. Both of them shall be accompanied. We shall recite Quran, learn its teachings, and also fast to control our sensual desire.”

“Try to reduce your distance with Quran. Bind yourself to recite Quran every day, as it lightens the heart, strengthens determination, and upgrades personality,” he advised.
