'Today on top of palace, tomorrow buried in pits' – words of Imam Al-Hadi (A)
When Mutawakkil (the Abbasid Caliph) whom his hatred to the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and their followers is evident, became the Caliph he feared that Imam Hadi (PBUH) rise against him. Therefore he bade Imam Hadi (PBUH) to reside near him to keep him under his scrutiny so that if necessary could impose pressure on him, and whenever needed murder him. However, Imam (PBUH), by the will of Allah (SWT), prudently decided to use the opportunity to infiltrate his influence into the government and the inner circle of the Caliph, and he succeeded in doing so. Incidents such as the following can illustrate the aspects of influence of Imam Hadi (PBUH) in the court.

Qadr means honour and dignity. Lailatul Qadr means the night of honour and dignity. This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights. The reward of worship on this night is better than the worship of a thousand months of worship, equivalent to a person's lifetime.

The same year ‘Ali Ibn Yaqtin was honoured by Hajj and later went to Madinah and decided to meet Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a.s.) but Imam (a.s.) did not permit him to enter. Some told: Zahra is there;
He told: So What? Why to care?
